About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 346 globe valves with National Stock Number 3H-4820-015766630-L1 to be delivered to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a Level 1 item acquisition that will be sourced exclusively from approved vendors with specific inspection system qualifications. Contractors must have an inspection system that conforms to MIL-I-45208A standard, which will be certified by a joint DCMA/NAVSUP WSS survey team. Additional technical specifications include Technical Data Package Version 006, with complete technical data and no manufacturing restrictions. The opportunity is currently in pre-solicitation phase, with responses due by May 23, 2025, and was originally posted on April 8, 2025.

While initially described as not a small business set-aside, the opportunity appears to be open for full and open competition among qualified vendors. The procurement involves a relatively modest quantity of 346 valve units, suggesting a potentially limited contract value. Interested contractors can obtain additional information about the MIL-I-45208A requirements by contacting NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, located at Code N97122, P.O. Box 2020 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The procurement falls under Product Service Code 4820 for nonpowered valves, indicating a specialized industrial component acquisition. Vendors will be evaluated based on their ability to meet strict military specification standards and demonstrate compliance with the required inspection certification.
