About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command intends to solicit a sole-source contract for a gate valve (NSN 7H-4820-016741668-X5) under FAR 6.302-1, with a response deadline of November 5, 2026.

The Government will procure four units for delivery to two DLA distribution locations: New Cumberland, Pennsylvania and San Joaquin, Tracy, California. The Government does not own the data or rights necessary to purchase or contract repair of this part from additional sources and has determined it uneconomical to acquire that data or reverse-engineer the part, establishing the sole-source justification.

Interested vendors may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of notice publication (30 days if award will be issued under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The Government will consider all timely submissions but reserves sole discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received. Submissions will be evaluated solely to assess competitive feasibility; this notice is not itself a request for competitive proposals.

Vendors may also identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. The Government has determined that FAR Part 12 commercial-item policies do not apply to this procurement based on market research.
