About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, through the Air Force Sustainment Center's 423rd Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is conducting market research to identify potential manufacturers of butterfly valves (part number 736262B, NSN 4810-01-535-5591-RK) for the B1 platform. This is a Sources Sought Synopsis intended for market research purposes only and does not represent a formal solicitation or binding commitment from the government. Potential sources must be capable of providing all labor, materials, facilities, and equipment necessary for new manufacture, including component procurement, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping, and may also be responsible for supply chain management, logistics planning, and addressing diminishing manufacturing sources. Interested vendors representing all business types—including large businesses, small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, 8(a) certified firms, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone businesses, and women-owned small businesses—must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package electronically through DoD SAFE and provide business information including company name, CAGE code, business size certification status, and UEI to the specified email addresses by the March 7, 2026 deadline.

No set-aside designation has been applied to this market research effort. The government has not identified any incumbent contractors or potential award values, as this is a pre-solicitation notice designed solely to gauge industry capability. The estimated spares requirement consists of 15 units of the butterfly valve. No funds are currently available, and no contract will be awarded based on this notice alone. The Federal Stock Class is 4810 (Valves, Powered), with the applicable NAICS Code 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) carrying a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. Interested parties should direct all questions to the workflow email address rather than the originator, and vendors must select the "Add Me to Interested Vendors" button to formally participate in this market research effort.
