About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 50 units of a valve assembly (NSN 7H-4810-015353087-CP) with specific technical requirements. The procurement is unique because the Navy does not currently possess the technical data necessary to produce this item, and only sources approved by the In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) will be considered. Interested companies must complete a Source Approval Request (SAR)-Maritime and undergo a technical review by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to be considered as a potential supplier. The government intends to negotiate with a sole source under FAR 6.302-1, but will consider proposals received within 45 days of the notice's publication. Proposals must demonstrate the capability to meet strict qualification requirements, and any submissions for remanufactured, surplus, or repaired items will be deemed non-responsive.
The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and has a posted date of April 17, 2025, with a response deadline of July 1, 2025. The procurement is subject to potential Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, as indicated by potential DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021. To be considered, vendors must be certified as a Depot Overhaul Point (DOP) and be prepared for a potentially lengthy technical review process. The quantity requirement is specifically 50 units, with delivery designated as FOB Origin. Prospective vendors should note that the technical review process is entirely under NAVSEA's authority, and meeting initial qualification requirements does not guarantee contract award.
