Notice text

This project advances the ongoing research in the field of calculating carbon effects of burn treatments, to the validation phase of measuring and predicting burn probability outputs.

- Build FVS input files for each FVS variant to process national tree list files to estimate carbon pools.  Databases need to be constructed for each FVS variant.

- Process FVS simulations for each tree list.

- Process FVS outputs - specifically combine the burn probability outputs from FSIM with FVS outputs to calculate expected carbon emmisions for treatment and no treatment scenario frm DVS.

- Assist with inventory issues related to the national tree list data set, including debugging tree list data, error checking outputs.

- Build maps and other reports on the carbon outputs to display results.

- Anaylze difference between published biomass maps and estimates from the national tree list data.

- Assist in the automation of the calculations from estimating carbon offsets.
