About this opportunity
The Department of Energy's United States ITER Project Office intends to solicit qualification and commercial-dedication services for pneumatic components supporting the ITER fusion project, with an expression-of-interest due date of October 9, 2026.
USIPO is seeking suppliers qualified to perform qualification, commercial-grade dedication, and potential supply of commercially sourced pneumatic components. The procurement covers approximately 250 pneumatically actuated 3/2-way valve manifolds, 90 air pressure regulators, and 160 pressure relief valves. Valve manifolds will be delivered to the contracting company and/or company-designated suppliers; regulators and relief valves will be shipped to the ITER site in France. The optional scope includes purchase of dedicated hardware from original equipment manufacturers with delivery to designated locations.
Work must meet ITER technical specifications and nuclear qualification standards including IEEE/IEC 60780-323-2016, ASME QME-1-2025, and EPRI 3002002982. Equipment is classified as Protection Important Components subject to French INB regulation. Suppliers must demonstrate experience in mechanical and pneumatic equipment qualification for nuclear or safety-related applications, commercial-grade dedication, qualification testing, quality assurance implementation, nuclear documentation preparation, supply-chain management, and international export and shipment requirements. The scope includes qualification plan development and execution, witnessed testing, qualification reporting, commercial-dedication planning per EPRI guidance, and delivery of complete documentation dossiers.
Interested suppliers should submit statements of interest to Landen Treadway (treadwayla@ornl.gov, +1 865-341-3071). This notice is for information and planning purposes; submission of an EOI is not a prerequisite for responding to the formal solicitation.
