About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Strategic Acquisition Center Frederick awarded Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) 36C10X26A0004 to Philips North America LLC on April 2, 2026, for enterprise-wide digital telepathology service maintenance support across VA Medical Centers. The BPA covers preventive and corrective maintenance, system updates and upgrades, replacement parts, and technical support for proprietary Philips digital pathology scanners, image management systems, and associated server infrastructure supporting the VA Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Program Office. This sole-source award was justified under FAR 6.302-1 due to the proprietary nature of the equipment and the original equipment manufacturer's exclusive capability to maintain system integrity and ensure FDA compliance without risk to patient care. The BPA does not obligate funds at the time of award, with funding occurring instead at the individual call order level, allowing the VA to procure maintenance services on an as-needed basis.
