About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) issued a Cost Plus Fixed Fee Delivery Order N0001924F5561 to the Bell Boeing Joint Program Office on a sole source basis for non-recurring engineering related to software corrections for V-22 avionics and flight control systems. The contract, valued at $27,112,539, was awarded on September 27, 2024, under Title 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) which allows for limited competition due to the government's restricted technical data rights. The sole source award was specifically for developing Software Sustainment Defect Packages (SSDP) for the V-22 aircraft, with the justification that no other source could satisfy the agency's unique technical requirements. This procurement supports critical software engineering and maintenance needs for the V-22 aircraft program, ensuring continued operational readiness of the military's tiltrotor aircraft fleet.
