About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Military Sealift Command is seeking an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Eaton authorized service and repair facility to overhaul the bow thruster motor starter on the USNS LEWIS AND CLARK. The work must be performed during the period of performance from September 16-30, 2024 at the contractor's facility. The solicitation requires a qualified technical representative experienced with the T-AKE class vessels and high voltage electrical systems. Quotes are due by September 9, 2024, and award will be made to the lowest priced technically acceptable quoter. This is a firm-fixed price procurement with no commercial financing.
There is no small business set-aside for this procurement. The required item is critical ship equipment, the failure of which poses a hazard to the ship, the crew, or the environment. The Contracting Officer has determined that only one source, either Point Eight Power or Fairlead Integrated Power and Controls, is reasonably available to provide the required Eaton Electrical Circuit Breakers. The procurement is considered an urgent and compelling requirement, with a required delivery date of September 30, 2024 to address a Casualty Report (CASREP) for the USNS Lewis and Clark's bow thruster.
