About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy's Military Sealift Command is seeking a contractor to perform IMCS (Integrated Mission Control System) Redundance PLC server troubleshooting and repair services for the USNS BURLINGTON (T-EPF 10). The contract requires exclusive maintenance and troubleshooting by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), which in this case is Austal USA, to maintain equipment warranties and ensure reliability and certifications. The work will be performed at the contractor's facility on the East Coast, with a specific performance period from 21 April 2025 to 16 May 2025. While all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or proposal, the procurement documentation indicates a strong preference for sole-source procurement due to Austal's proprietary software, exclusive licensing, and critical ship equipment classification. The evaluation will likely focus on the contractor's ability to meet OEM-specific technical requirements and maintain the specialized IMCS systems.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate any specific set-aside designations, and the contract appears to be open to qualified vendors. The procurement falls under NAICS Category 336611 (Ship Building and Repairing) and PSC Category J998 (Non-Nuclear Ship Repair). While no specific award value is mentioned, the short 25-day performance timeline suggests a relatively focused and potentially limited-scope engagement. The critical nature of the work is underscored by the requirement for OEM-specific maintenance to preserve equipment warranties and ensure system reliability. The contract is specifically focused on troubleshooting and repairing a single redundant PLC server for the USNS BURLINGTON, indicating a precise and technically specialized scope of work.
