About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy's Military Sealift Command is seeking maintenance services for the Integrated Monitoring Control System (IMCS) on the USNS BRUNSWICK (T-EPF 6). Austal, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), is the only authorized company to perform this specialized maintenance, which is critical for ensuring ship safety and operational readiness. The maintenance will be conducted on the East Coast and is specifically targeted at servicing and repairing vital automation monitoring and control systems. The anticipated performance period is from 25 April 2025 to 30 May 2025, with all responsible sources invited to submit capability statements or proposals for consideration. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed, the procurement appears to prioritize technical capability and OEM authorization.
The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and will be processed under the simplified acquisition threshold. Austal USA is identified as the sole source provider, with justification based on their proprietary rights, exclusive licensing agreements, and status as the exclusive technical representative for the IMCS equipment. The procurement falls under NAICS Category 336611 for Ship Building and Repairing and PSC Category J998 for Non-Nuclear Ship Repair (East). The precise award value is not specified in the documents, but the service is focused on a targeted maintenance period of approximately one month. The contract's critical nature is underscored by the potential hazards of system failure, which could compromise ship, crew, and environmental safety.
