About this opportunity
The General Services Administration (GSA) Region 8 is seeking a small business contractor to renovate approximately 6,300 rentable square feet of U.S. Marshals Service space within the Andrew Bogue Federal Building/Courthouse in Rapid City, South Dakota. The renovation project aims to modernize outdated office space and holding cells on the third floor to meet USMS Publication 64 requirements, as well as develop a new command and control center and breakroom in the basement level. Potential bidders are strongly advised to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting to assess existing conditions, verify dimensions, and understand project limitations. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, contractors will be expected to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the existing space and project requirements. The opportunity is currently posted with a response deadline of December 25, 2024, providing potential bidders approximately one month to prepare their proposals.
This contract opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, specifically targeting commercial and institutional building construction (NAICS 236220) with a repair and alteration of office buildings focus (PSC Z2AA). The pre-solicitation does not disclose specific budget ranges or estimated contract value, but the scope suggests a substantial renovation project involving multiple functional spaces. No information is provided about incumbent contractors or previous service providers for this specific renovation. The project appears to be driven by increased staffing needs for the U.S. Marshals Service, necessitating expanded and modernized workspace. Contractors should be prepared to execute a comprehensive renovation that meets strict federal building standards and accommodates the operational requirements of a federal law enforcement agency.
