About this opportunity
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service seeks purchase and installation of one gooseneck service body for a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD 5500, with quotes due June 5, 2026. This is a Women-Owned Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to WOSB firms.
Place of performance is the USFWS MT Fire Zone, 333 Airport Road, Lewistown, Montana 59457. Period of performance runs from June 15, 2026 to July 1, 2027, with vehicle delivery anticipated fall 2026 (October–December). NAICS code is 336211, Motor Vehicle Body Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. PSC is K023, Modification of Equipment – Ground Effect Vehicles, Motor Vehicles, Trailers, and Cycles.
The service body must be gooseneck-style construction from 14-gauge A-40 galvanneal steel with flip-top compartments, full-height slam tailgate, 36-inch high front compartments with adjustable 250-pound capacity shelves, and rear underbody integrated compartments. The body must include a B&W Turnoverball stowing hitch rated for 30,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 7,500 pounds tongue weight, rear receiver hitch with 21,000-pound capacity, 75-gallon auxiliary fuel tank, 15-gallon-per-minute fill-rite pump with 10 feet of hose, and a Honda GX390-powered air compressor producing 30 CFM at 100 PSI. Specifications reference a KNAPHEIDE PGTD gooseneck body and VMAC G30 compressor system. Paint finish is Oxford White automotive acrylic urethane or polyurethane with three-year rust-through warranty.
Award will be made to the contractor whose offer provides best value, considering ability to meet specifications and price, with conformance to specifications weighted more favorably than price. Contractors must comply with Buy American domestic end product certification, wage determination requirements for Fergus County, Montana (Wage Determination 2015-5397), and sustainable products requirements. Contractors located more than 250 miles from Lewistown must cover all transportation costs; those within 250 miles receive government-provided transport. Technical contacts are Sam Funk (406-428-8813, Samuel_Funk@fws.gov) and Jim Forsythe (406-366-0780, James_Forsythe@fws.gov).
