About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard, under the Department of Homeland Security, issued a Special Notice on November 24, 2025, for the procurement of power converter components for USCGC Calhoun. This is a Total Small Business set-aside opportunity published for informational purposes through the JOTFOC acquisition process. The contract involves the supply and shipment of specific electrical parts necessary to power sensitive equipment within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) aboard the vessel. The work is classified under NAICS code 336611 (Ship Building and Repairing) and PSC code J020 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment—Ship and Marine Equipment). The primary point of contact is Christian Thorn at (510) 437-5483, with delivery directed to CGC Calhoun at Coast Guard Base Charleston.
Prospective contractors must supply one AMA264AAR unit, one AMA335B00 unit, one PTF770 unit, three PCA088 units, and six PCL013 units, with delivery required by December 5, 2025. The Special Notice has a response deadline of December 1, 2025, providing contractors with approximately one week to submit their bids. A critical requirement for all prospective contractors is prior completion of or current enrollment in the System Award Management (SAM) database at sam.gov; failure to meet this requirement will result in automatic disqualification and contract reissuance. This opportunity is restricted to small businesses as a Total Small Business set-aside, and interested vendors must ensure their compliance with SAM registration before submitting any proposals.
