About this opportunity

The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify capable suppliers for a modular truck and boat trailer ramp installation at their facility in Weslaco, Texas. This is not a formal solicitation but rather a Request for Information conducted pursuant to FAR Part 10 to determine market capability and commercial availability of solutions. The ramp must accommodate a 14-foot wide loading dock with a 50-foot run and 4-foot rise while maintaining a maximum 8% grade and supporting a minimum load capacity of 26,000 pounds. The ramp specification includes requirements for open bar traction grating decking, high-visibility handrails spanning both sides, and dock plates fabricated from diamond plate material measuring 14 feet in length with sufficient gauge to bridge a maximum 4-inch gap without deflection. The deadline for responding to this Sources Sought Notice is November 10, 2025, with responses used to inform the Coast Guard's subsequent competition and set-aside decisions under FAR Parts 6 and 19.

This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to certified small business concerns. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide a specific budget range for the project. While the government has not disclosed an award value, the scope of work—including design, fabrication, and installation of a substantial industrial ramp system with specialized safety features and dock interface components—suggests a moderate construction or fabrication contract. The Coast Guard classified this requirement under NAICS 332999 (All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing) and PSC 1680 (Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories and Components), though the actual requirements are oriented toward industrial ramp fabrication rather than aerospace components.
