About this opportunity

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Egypt is seeking to procure and install a new fire alarm system for its office building in Cairo due to the malfunction of the existing system, which is considered impaired and not code-compliant. The contract's goal is to provide a fully operational fire protection system that meets all applicable NFPA and ADA requirements. Key requirements include providing all necessary equipment, programming, and software, as well as coordinating the installation to avoid conflicts with existing building features. The contractor must keep the existing system operational during construction and perform work in occupied areas after hours. USAID is not seeking technical or cost proposals at this time, and responses to the pre-solicitation notice will not be evaluated or considered for a subsequent contract award.

This opportunity has no set-aside designation, and the NAICS code and PSC are not provided. The pre-solicitation notice does not mention any potential incumbents or current contractors. The anticipated value or budget range for the contract is also not specified. The key numerical details include the building's size and layout, as well as the requirement to install smoke detectors a minimum of 3 feet away from air diffusers and return air openings.
