About this opportunity
USAID/Mozambique is seeking a contractor to implement the Catalyzing Access to Family Planning Activity, a comprehensive program designed to improve family planning and reproductive health services in Mozambique. The agency intends to award a five-year contract focused on supporting Mozambicans in achieving their fertility intentions and enhancing health outcomes for women, men, and youth. The primary objectives include increasing access to quality, person-centered family planning services, addressing persistent barriers to service delivery, and expanding equitable access to reproductive health information, products, and services. The Request for Information (RFI) aims to assess industry interest, gather technical insights, and receive suggestions for refining the program's results framework. Potential respondents are invited to submit their input by February 15, 2025, with responses accepted in English or Portuguese via email to mission-maputo-oaa@usaid.gov.
The contract is valued at up to $35 million and will operate from 2025-2030, targeting three primary provinces: Nampula, Sofala, and Zambezia, with potential expansion to Cabo Delgado. There are no specific set-aside designations for this opportunity, making it open to a broad range of qualified organizations. The program will focus on four key intermediate result areas: promoting healthy individual and community family planning behaviors, expanding service access, improving service quality through provider empowerment, and strengthening the overall enabling environment for reproductive health services. However, it is important to note that an Amendment 01 was issued on February 5, 2025, canceling the original RFI in accordance with executive orders, though the agency indicates the RFI may be reissued at a future date pending agency guidance.
