About this opportunity

The United States Air Force Academy Department of the Air Force is seeking contractors to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, testing, and balance certification services for 11 chemical fume hoods located in the Dean of Faculty Chemistry Department. The procurement requires contractors to supply all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to bring the SafeAir by Fischer Hamilton fume hoods up to certification standards, specifically ensuring they pass airflow velocity balance requirements of 80-100 CFM/ft² according to ACGIH General use Laboratory Hoods standards. Contractors must demonstrate their capabilities through a 5-page submission that includes their Unique Entity Identification, CAGE Code, SAM registration status, business size classification, socio-economic status, teaming arrangements, and relevant previous experience. The government may conduct a 3-hour site visit during the solicitation period to allow contractors to evaluate the equipment and gather data for accurate pricing. All capability packages must be submitted by August 8, 2025, to the designated contracting personnel via email.

This opportunity is structured as a firm-fixed price contract with no set-aside designation, making it open to all qualified contractors regardless of business size. The procurement involves three different model sizes of chemical fume hoods: three 54L815E units measuring 38.25" x 18", seven 54L821E units measuring 62.5" x 18.25", and one 54L824E unit measuring 86.25" x 18". Performance will take place at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and contractors are responsible for ensuring the work site is clean upon completion. The solicitation does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific budget ranges, though the market research nature of this sources sought notice suggests the government is still determining potential sources and pricing structures. All responding contractors must maintain active registration in the System for Award Management and specify whether they operate as suppliers or manufacturers of the required services.
