Description

National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Dermatology Branch, plans to procure on a sole source basis, a Special Order Laser from Becton, Dickinson & Co., 1 Becton Drive, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417.

This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 employees.

Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price type contract.

The delivery date is 90 days from date of award.

It has been determined there are no opportunities to acquire green products or services for this procurement.

In order to meet NCI's research goals and to maintain continuity it was determined that upgrading the BD LSR II with a Special Order Laser will facilitate the research for the Dermatology Branch scientists. Expanding the current system, rather than buying a completely new system, would not only be cost-effective, but also would allow the Dermatology Branch to continue to use data that was acquired in the past. The addition of this laser will allow the Dermatology Branch to simultaneously analyze 15 channels. This would allow researchers in the Branch to perform experiments with greater efficiency. It would also enable the analysis of samples of limited quantity and size (human or human primate samples) and maximize its experimental output. This is expected to lead to shorter timeframe to complete projects and more efficient use of budget and human resources. The compatibility of the Laser with the current BD LSR II is an essential salient characteristic. The BD LSR II Special Order Laser includes the installation of a 355nm 60mw Coherent G4 UV laser and a 405nm 50mw OBIS on BD LSR II serial number H06800002 . The UV Option will be configured with 1 PMT's and a new Trigon. Optics included; BUV396 (379/28), BUV496 (450LP; 515/30) and BUV 737 (690LP; 740/35).

Place of delivery:
