About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking contractors to provide services for upgrading the Airfield Lighting Control System (ALCS) at Robins AFB. The ALCS includes lighting systems for navigation, tower beacon, approach, runway, taxiway, and parking areas to enable safe night and foul weather airfield operations. The key technical requirements include engineering labor to implement the conversion from the legacy Allen-Bradley SLC 5 PLC system to a new Allen-Bradley Compact Logix PLC system, conversion of existing PLC and HMI programming, updating IO drawings, and meeting applicable cybersecurity requirements. This is a priority system that requires brand name Allen-Bradley components, and the contractor must have experience in migrating Rockwell SLC legacy automation systems. The contract delivery schedule is 90 days after award.
There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity. The services will be performed at the Airfield Lighting Vault (Bldg 36) and Air Traffic Control Tower (Bldg 37) at Robins AFB. The pre-solicitation notice does not provide any information about potential incumbent contractors or award value/budget ranges. The deadline for responses to this pre-solicitation notice is August 30, 2024.

The ALCS currently utilizes Allen Bradley Panel View 1500 digital touchscreen interface panels, LYNX managed Switches transport the control data to and interface panels and Allen Bradley SC5 PLCs, which control the Air Field lighting.
It is priopriety system that requries brand name Allen Bradley components. Must have experience in migrating Rockwell SLC legacy automation systems.
