About this opportunity
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, under the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command, is seeking Universal Synaptics hardware in support of the Intermittent Fault Detection Isolation System (IFDIS) for the EA-18G system. This is a sole source procurement action being conducted under FAR 13.106-1, with Universal Synaptics identified as the exclusive vendor due to their proprietary ownership of the system and exclusive ability to perform form, fit, and function repairs. The procurement covers three line items: an IFD Internal Computer Full Replacement, an IFD Module Replacement, and a Portable Intermittent Fault Detector (PIFD) Isolator Replacement, all under a firm fixed price arrangement. While this is designated as a sole source procurement, the government will consider capability statements from all responsible sources, and the final determination to compete or proceed with sole source negotiation remains at the government's discretion. The solicitation closed on January 20, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, with offers to be submitted via email to christopher.m.jones405.civ@us.navy.mil. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to submission.
Although the solicitation notice indicates no set-aside designation in the main listing, the actual solicitation document notes a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside designation, creating a potential contradiction in the available documentation. Universal Synaptics (CAGE 350J1, located at 2109 Rulon White Blvd Unit 2, Ogden, UT 84404) is the incumbent and sole source contractor for this requirement. The specific part number being procured is USC-IFD-10240, and the contract includes a delivery deadline of March 31, 2026, to the NSWC Crane facility located in Crane, Indiana. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the available documentation. All changes to the requirement prior to the closing date were to be posted on https://beta.sam.gov/, which has officially replaced FBO.gov as the government's contracting portal.
