About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy's Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract to provide an 80-hour underwater wet welding and exothermic/oxy-arc cutting training course. The training is intended to address a gap in the Navy's diver qualification program, as current training at the Navy's diving schools only covers the basics, and specialized underwater welding and cutting skills are typically left for diving officers, master divers, and diving supervisors to develop through their own training programs.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to award a sole source contract to Bauer Exothermic, the only known source capable of meeting the Navy's requirement, as they have been providing this specialized training to the military since 2017 and are certified by the Association of Diving Contractors International. The training is scheduled to begin on July 8, 2024, and interested parties are requested to provide information on their current capabilities that demonstrate their ability to meet the requirement by June 14, 2024. The contract action is set aside for small businesses, and the contractor must be registered in the DoD System for Award Management (SAM) and eligible to process invoices through the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) system.
