About this opportunity
The General Services Administration Public Buildings Service Region 5 is seeking to lease warehouse space in Detroit, Michigan for the U.S. Government. The requirement is for a first-floor warehouse facility between 16,500 ANSI/BOMA Office Area (ABOA) square feet, located within a specifically delineated area bounded by Mack Ave/MLK Jr Blvd, I-375/I-75, Detroit River, and I-96. Critical space requirements include two 12' x 12' motorized rollup doors, a loading dock capable of accommodating 53' trailers, 16-foot minimum ceiling height, and approximately 2,500 square feet of secure storage across two rooms. Expressions of Interest must be submitted by March 25, 2025, at 5:00 PM Eastern Time, with submissions including building details, location, square footage, rental rates, floor plans, and contact information. Evaluation will consider factors such as space configuration, accessibility, security, and potential relocation costs.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this lease opportunity. The Government anticipates a full-term lease of 10 years with a firm term of 5 years, requiring 10 secured parking spaces and 24/7 access. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed, the lease will be fully serviced, including utilities, janitorial supplies, and tenant alterations. The current lease for the space is expiring, prompting this market survey to explore alternative warehouse options. Potential lessors include building owners, brokers, and agents, with brokers required to provide written authorization from building ownership. The estimated market survey is planned for May 2025, with an occupancy date to be determined, suggesting flexibility in the procurement timeline.
