About this opportunity
The U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) has issued a Special Notice announcing a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Focused Technical Exchange scheduled for February 26, 2026. This informational event, posted on January 14, 2026, is designed to engage industry partners in discussions regarding the licensing of the Department of War's Tactical Microgrid Standard (TMS) compliant PDU. The PDU is a two-man liftable system capable of networking multiple 600 VDC sources and loads with up to four connections of 120kW per channel, enabling the creation of smart, cyber-secure microgrids suitable for both vehicle-mounted and ground-deployed applications. The event will be held at two Michigan locations: Automation Alley in Troy during the morning session and Detroit Arsenal in Warren during the afternoon session. This Special Notice represents the Army's effort to facilitate collaboration between government and commercial partners on advanced power distribution technology.
The primary objectives of this Focused Technical Exchange are to share ongoing PDU development efforts, inform industry stakeholders about PDU transition plans, provide technical deep dives into PDU design and technical data packages, conduct warfighter-led demonstrations, and enable direct dialogue between industry participants and GVSC subject matter experts. Industry partners, including small and large businesses, academic institutions, and governmental organizations, may register for the event between January 14 and February 2, 2026, or until capacity is reached, with participation limited to U.S. citizens at no attendance fee. Prospective attendees should note that this is an informational event only and does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or contracts. The exchange provides a significant opportunity for companies interested in Tactical Microgrid Standard compliance and power distribution innovations to engage directly with Army leadership and access proprietary technical documentation and expertise.
