About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Contracting Command New Jersey, acting on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Armaments Center (DEVCOM-AC), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for tungsten heavy alloy products. The procurement seeks suppliers capable of providing various tungsten alloy classes (Class II, III, and IV per ASTM B777), including near-net tungsten heavy alloy blanks and finished machined components. Contractors must be able to deliver products in sintered or work-hardened states, with potential post-processing operations such as cutting, grinding, and near-net machining. The solicitation requires interested parties to submit a comprehensive capabilities statement by June 23, 2025, detailing their ability to provide specified tungsten products and including key company information. All potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and provide details about their business size and classification.

The pre-solicitation notice does not specify a specific set-aside designation, indicating the opportunity is open to various business sizes within the Nonferrous Metal Rolling, Drawing, and Extruding category (NAICS 331491). The small business size standard for this NAICS code is 900 employees, which provides flexibility for different sized businesses to compete. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned, the procurement appears to be structured for competitive bidding with potential for multiple suppliers. The solicitation covers a broad range of tungsten heavy alloy products, suggesting the potential for ongoing or multiple contract awards. Interested contractors are expected to demonstrate technical capabilities in producing tungsten alloys with specific material properties, including requirements for yield strength, hardness, and elongation, with potential for various manufacturing processes like swaging and forging.
