About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award an Advance Acquisition Contract and fixed-price contract for Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Lot 7 of the MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). The procurement will be a sole-source award to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (NGC) in San Diego, California, utilizing statutory authority for other than full and open competition. The contract will procure long lead items necessary to maintain production schedules for the United States Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. NAVAIR has determined that NGC is the only qualified source due to its unique position as the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the MQ-4C Triton UAS. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on July 19, 2022, with a response deadline of August 3, 2022, though this is not a formal Request for Proposal.
The contract encompasses four United States Navy MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft, three Royal Australian Air Force aircraft, two Main Operating Bases, and various supporting elements including mission control systems, engineering change orders, integrated logistics support, interim contractor support, trainers, and support equipment. No specific set-aside has been designated for this opportunity, and the procurement will be conducted under NAICS code 336411 for Aircraft Manufacturing. The contract will be executed across Fiscal Years 2023 and 2024, with NGC being the exclusive contractor due to its proprietary technical capabilities and comprehensive understanding of the system's design and operational characteristics. Companies interested in potential subcontracting opportunities are advised to contact Vicky Harper-Hall, Socio-Economic Programs Sector Manager at Northrop Grumman, via email or phone for further information.

No other source has the technical qualifications and necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy the Government’s requirements.
