About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a contractor to repair and process transponder sets, with a specific focus on radio navigation equipment for airborne applications. The solicitation, issued under NAICS category 334220 for Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing, requires a contractor capable of managing complex repair turnaround times (RTAT) with a mandatory 110-day completion window after asset receipt. The contract demands precise reporting through the Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV) system, with transactions required to be accurately reported within five business days of physical asset receipt. Contractors must provide a throughput constraint for each National Stock Number (NSN) and be prepared to handle monthly repair volumes to be specified. The solicitation is currently open, with proposals due by July 31, 2025, offering potential vendors an opportunity to submit their capabilities for this specialized technical service.
The solicitation does not indicate any specific set-aside designations, making it open to a broad range of qualified contractors. The contract allows for early and incremental deliveries and has an induction expiration date of 365 days after contract award, after which asset repairs would require bilateral agreement. While specific award values are not disclosed, the contract involves radio navigation equipment repair with potentially significant technical complexity. Contractors must comply with various federal procurement regulations, including Buy American provisions, warranty requirements, and equal opportunity standards. The place of performance will be at the contractor's facility, with the Navy requiring final inspection and acceptance of repaired assets. Notably, the contract includes provisions for national defense priority ratings and emergency preparedness considerations, suggesting the strategic importance of the transponder set repair services being procured.
