About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a contractor to perform repair and upgrade services for a specific transponder set, with the solicitation focused on a repair and modification requirement for a naval communications equipment component. The opportunity involves repairing and upgrading a specific transponder with National Item Identification Numbers (NIIN) 016611730 and 016863597, with a critical repair turnaround time (RTAT) of 110 days after asset receipt. The solicitation is open until September 2, 2025, and requires precise reporting and tracking through the Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV) system. Contractors must demonstrate capability to accurately process and report asset transactions within five business days of receipt and obtain final government inspection and acceptance within the specified timeframe. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed, the contract appears to prioritize technical capability, adherence to repair timelines, and comprehensive tracking of asset management.

The solicitation is not set aside for any specific business category and is open to qualified manufacturers in the Radio Navigation Equipment, Airborne manufacturing sector (NAICS 334220). The contract allows for early and incremental deliveries and has an induction expiration date of 365 days after contract award, with assets received after this date requiring bilateral agreement between the contractor and the NAVSUP WSS Contracting Officer. The throughput constraint will be determined by the contractor, with monthly repair volumes to be specified. The place of performance will be the contractor's facility, where they will receive, repair, and process the transponder sets. While specific award value is not mentioned, the detailed technical requirements suggest this is a specialized contract with potentially significant technical and logistical complexities for the selected contractor.
