About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a Transfer Unit, with National Stock Number 7R-7025-016437221-BL, requiring two units to be delivered FOB Origin. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a highly specialized procurement where government source approval is mandatory prior to contract award, as the item is flight critical. Potential contractors must submit detailed technical data through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures, demonstrating their capability to produce the item. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with sources under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for limited competition. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date (until January 14, 2025) to submit proposals, capability statements, or express interest in fulfilling the contract requirements.
There are no specific set-aside designations for this opportunity, and the pre-solicitation does not mention incumbent contractors or potential award values. The procurement specifically requires two units of the transfer unit, with a critical emphasis on technical competence and prior government approval. The government will evaluate submissions based on the completeness of technical data, previous production experience, and the ability to meet stringent source approval requirements. While the exact budget is not disclosed, the procurement appears to be for a specialized, likely high-value military component. Contractors without previous government approval for this specific item must be prepared to submit comprehensive technical documentation and undergo a potentially extensive source approval process to be considered for the contract.
