About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a Transfer Unit (NSN 7R-7025-016481241-V2) with a Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 003, requiring 170 units to be delivered FOB Origin. This procurement is specifically for a flight-critical item that requires Government source approval prior to contract award, limiting competition to previously approved sources. Potential vendors must submit detailed technical information from the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochure, demonstrating their capability to produce the item. The solicitation allows all responsible sources to identify their interest and capability, with proposals being accepted within 45 days of publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). Evaluation will focus on source approval documentation, technical data submission, and the vendor's production experience with similar items.
The contract opportunity does not have a specific set-aside designation and follows a non-competitive procurement approach under FAR 6.302-1 authority. While no specific award value is disclosed, the procurement involves 170 units of a specialized transfer unit with critical technical requirements. The Government has indicated that if source approval cannot be processed in time, they may continue award based on Fleet support needs. Vendors not currently approved must submit comprehensive technical data based on their production experience, and those with ongoing source approval evaluations must include documentation of their submission. The solicitation explicitly notes that offers failing to provide complete source approval data will not be considered. Interested parties have 15 days to identify their capability to meet the requirement with a commercial item, though the Government retains sole discretion in determining procurement strategy.
