About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is seeking to procure 25 units of transducers under NSN 3H-6625-011154874, classified as electrical and electronic properties measuring and testing instruments. The agency intends to conduct a sole source procurement under FAR 6.302-1 authority, as the government does not own the data rights necessary to competitively source this item and has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase the data rights or reverse engineer the component. Eaton Aerospace LLC (02750) has been identified as the approved source for this requirement. The procurement timeline allows for interested parties to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the June 11, 2025 posting date (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement), with a final due date of July 28, 2025. The government will consider all responses received within this timeframe solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, though the decision remains at the government's discretion.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all responsible sources who can demonstrate their capability to meet the requirement. The contract specifies delivery FOB origin and references technical data package version 013 in accordance with reference number 41GP21Y-50D-1C. While Eaton Aerospace LLC is currently the sole approved source, the government is providing this notice to allow other potential contractors the opportunity to express interest and demonstrate their ability to provide either the exact item or a commercial equivalent. The procurement falls under PSC category 6625 for electrical and electronic measuring instruments, and interested parties have 15 days from the notice date to identify any commercial item alternatives that could satisfy the government's requirements. The solicitation indicates this is not being treated as a commercial item acquisition under FAR Part 12 based on the government's market research.
