About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 8 pressure transducers (NSN 7H-6685-016008549-VU) with Technical Design Package (TDP) Version 006, to be delivered FOB Origin. This procurement is unique because the government does not own the data or rights to the part, and has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase the data rights or reverse engineer the component. The agency intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, which allows for a non-competitive procurement approach. Interested sources may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the synopsis publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government retains sole discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses received.

There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity. The procurement is categorized under PSC Code 6685 for Pressure, Temperature, and Humidity Measuring and Controlling Instruments. While no specific award value is disclosed, the relatively small quantity of 8 units suggests a limited scope procurement. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on March 19, 2025, with a response deadline of April 21, 2025. The contract appears focused on acquiring a specialized pressure transducer with specific technical requirements, and the government's approach indicates a preference for a single source solution due to the complexity and potential cost of obtaining alternative data rights or manufacturing specifications.
