About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure repair and modification services for a linear transducer (NSN 7H-6695-016008570-VU, TDP VER 004) classified under Combination and Miscellaneous Instruments. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority due to the uneconomical nature of obtaining data rights or reverse engineering the part. While this is a non-competitive procurement, all responsible sources are encouraged to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements to demonstrate their interest and capability. The Government will evaluate responses received within 45 days (or 30 days if award is under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement) of the notice publication date to determine whether a competitive procurement should be conducted instead. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on July 17, 2025, with a response deadline of February 6, 2026.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and does not identify any incumbent contractors or current contractors. The contract requires delivery of 5 units on a Free on Board (FOB) Origin basis, representing the complete scope of the requirement. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. The Government's evaluation will focus on determining whether sufficient competitive interest exists to warrant opening the procurement to broader competition, with the final decision remaining solely within the Government's discretion. Prospective contractors should note that information submitted will primarily be used to assess whether a competitive procurement process should be initiated.
