About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is seeking to acquire a replacement for the Tractor, Rubber Tired, Articulated Steering, Multi-Purpose (TRAM) through a full and open competition. The TRAM is a militarized commercial loader designed to provide more versatile and deployable engineering capabilities for combat, combat support, and combat service support units. Key technical requirements include a minimum bucket capacity of 2.5 cubic yards, forklift capabilities with 72-inch forks capable of lifting 12,000 to 15,000 pounds, a minimum speed of 20 mph, and a 60-inch fording depth. The tractor must operate effectively on uneven and unprepared surfaces including sand, snow, and mud. The Request for Proposal is anticipated for release in Q3 FY25, with the solicitation to be made available on SAM.gov and the PIEE Solicitation Module.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this procurement. The contract will be structured as a single-award Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a five-year ordering period. The procurement falls under NAICS code 333120 (Construction Machinery Manufacturing) and PSC code 3905, suggesting a focus on specialized heavy equipment for military engineering applications. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the comprehensive technical requirements suggest a significant investment in versatile, rugged equipment for Marine Corps operational needs. Potential contractors should carefully review the detailed technical specifications and be prepared to demonstrate capabilities in manufacturing militarized commercial loaders that meet the Marine Corps' stringent performance and operational requirements.
