About this opportunity
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry input on building a Trace Atmospheric Gas Analyzer (TAGA) mobile air monitoring laboratory. The TAGA laboratory will function as a platform for advanced analytical instrumentation, including a high-resolution chemical ionization - time of flight mass spectrometer, a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer, and a cavity ringdown spectrometer, as well as other ancillary components. The primary purpose of the TAGA mobile laboratory is to conduct air monitoring for the Superfund Removal and Remedial Programs, Emergency Response and Homeland Security activities across the country. The procurement, construction, and upfitting of the TAGA mobile laboratory will be undertaken at the vendor's facility, and the advanced analytical instrumentation installation and laboratory commissioning will be performed at the EPA's facility in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
This procurement is not a set-aside requirement. The EPA is seeking industry input on contractor capabilities and best practices for building the TAGA mobile air monitoring laboratory. The agency has not specified any potential incumbents or current contractors, and the details regarding the award value or budget range have not been provided in the pre-solicitation notice. The deadline for submitting responses to this RFI is September 27, 2024.
