About this opportunity
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has issued a Special Notice for tower installation services, indicating its intent to negotiate a sole source procurement with Installation Services, Inc., located in Sycamore, Illinois. The procurement will be conducted using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and will result in a firm fixed-price purchase order. The notice was posted on January 27, 2025, with a specific focus on the NAICS code 237130 for Power and Communication Line and Related Structures Construction. While the DEA plans to award the contract directly to Installation Services, Inc., the agency is open to receiving capability statements from other potential vendors. The notice emphasizes that the government retains full discretion in determining whether to open the requirement to broader competition.
Contractors interested in this opportunity are invited to submit capability statements electronically to Robert.A.JonesJr@dea.gov by February 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. The primary objective of this Special Notice is to provide transparency about the DEA's procurement intentions and allow other qualified vendors an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. Eligibility is not strictly limited, as any vendor that believes they can meet the government's requirements may submit a capability statement for consideration. However, it is crucial to note that this is not a competitive request for quotation, and no formal Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued. The government will review submitted capability statements and make a unilateral decision about whether to maintain the sole source approach or potentially expand the competitive landscape. Vendors should carefully review the notice and ensure their submissions effectively communicate their technical capabilities and alignment with the project's specific tower installation services requirements.
