About this opportunity

The US Geological Survey (USGS) Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center has issued a Sources Sought Notice for a Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC) Analyzer. This is a market research notice, not a request for proposal, seeking to identify potential sources for a specific Model CM245SN Total Inorganic Carbon Autoanalyzer manufactured by UIC Inc. The notice falls under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,000 employees. The USGS requires this equipment for analyzing Total Inorganic Carbon by acidification and coulometric detection in water and sediment samples. The notice emphasizes that it is solely for market research purposes and does not constitute a commitment by the government to issue a contract or solicitation.

The primary objective is to assess industry interest, capabilities, and qualifications among potential contractors, with particular emphasis on small business participation including Section 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) entities. Interested parties must respond by July 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM Mountain Time via email to the designated contact point. Responses must detail the extent to which technical specifications can be met, identify business type and size classification with any applicable small business designations, and provide experience descriptions through completed project examples. The required equipment must include specific technical features such as a CO2 Coulometer, Auto-Acidification Module, 30+ position autosampler, and compliance with ASTM standard D513. The government will not notify respondents of evaluation results, and this notice serves exclusively to gauge market capacity for potential future procurement activities.
