The Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground is issuing this pre-solicitation notice to announce the intent to issue a solicitation for the Torso Extremity Protection-Ballistic Pelvic Protector.
The Government intends to procure this requirement on a restricted procurement set-aside to Small Business using the procedures at Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 315990 Apparel Accessories and Other Apparel Manufacturing with a size standard of 500 employees.
The Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier proposed acquisition will provide Blast Pelvic Protectors as part of the Torso and Extremity Protection System (TEP). The BPP is one of four systems which integrates into the Soldier Protection System (SPS).
The BPP functions as a standalone component of the TEP System and is worn over the Army Combat Uniform. The BPP is designed as a blast harness with increased area of coverage, providing Soldiers improved mobility and protection from blast events. The BPP contains soft armor which provides protection of the pelvic region, femoral arteries, and lower abdominal organs in a blast or fragmentation event.
Offerors interested in obtaining a copy of the draft Statement of Work and Product Description Documents for this requirement shall submit an e-mail request to the POC for this action. Phone requests for these documents will not be honored.
