About this opportunity
The Iowa Army National Guard is conducting market research for the procurement of 960 tie-down chains through a Request for Information (RFI). The solicitation seeks 3/8" x 10' Grade 70 Transport Chains with specific technical requirements, including yellow zinc chromate clevis grab hooks, carbon steel construction, a working load limit of 6,600 lbs, and a break strength of 26,400 lbs. Potential contractors are invited to provide feedback on the proposed specifications, including assessments of specification clarity, potential competition limitations, and their ability to fulfill the contract requirements. The RFI aims to develop a list of qualified contractors who can provide quotes for the tie-down chains. Interested businesses must submit their responses by March 17, 2025, at 9:00 am Eastern, with required company information including name, point of contact, phone number, email, and CAGE or UEI number.
The procurement falls under NAICS category 332618 (Other Fabricated Wire Product Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 500 employees. No specific set-aside designation has been applied to this opportunity, indicating it is open to a broad range of contractors. While the exact award value is not specified, the quantity of 960 chains suggests a potentially significant contract for the right vendor. The solicitation is classified under Product Service Code 4010 for Chain and Wire Rope, which provides additional context for the procurement. Contractors are expected to carefully review the detailed specifications and provide comprehensive feedback to help the Iowa National Guard refine their procurement strategy and ensure they receive high-quality tie-down chains that meet their operational requirements.
