About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for the manufacture of Thermocouple Harness Assembly (NSN 2995-01-695-3676). This pre-solicitation notice seeks information from interested parties capable of providing all necessary labor, materials, facilities, and equipment for new manufacture of this item, including component procurement, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping. Prospective contractors must demonstrate capability to manage supply chain operations, logistics planning, production forecasting, long-lead time procurement, and mitigation of diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages. The evaluation will assess potential vendors' capacity to provide services consistent with the described scope and scale, secure necessary corporate financial and human capital resources, and successfully implement comparable requirements. This market research is preliminary in nature, with no active solicitation occurring at this time; responses are voluntary and the government assumes no financial responsibility for submission costs. The deadline for capability submissions is December 17, 2025.

No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement opportunity. The current manufacturers are ThermoControl, Inc. (CAGE 65410, part number 850551) and General Electric Co. (CAGE 99207, part number 2570M28P01), though technical orders and qualification requirements are not currently available. The estimated annual requirement is 640 units, providing vendors with clear visibility into anticipated production volumes. This pre-solicitation notice is explicitly intended to identify and qualify vendors for the next procurement cycle rather than the current buy, allowing interested parties to pursue approval status and position themselves for future competitive opportunities. The applicable NAICS code is 336390 (Other Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturing), and the PSC category is 2995 (Miscellaneous Engine Accessories, Aircraft).
