About this opportunity
The Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton seeks research support services to identify novel pharmaceutical targets for reducing heat and cold stress injuries. Services include assisting with single cell RNA sequencing from mouse brain tissue, conducting bioinformatics analysis, performing animal surgery and thermal stress experiments, and transporting samples. The contractor must have expertise in transcriptomics, signaling pathway analysis, and specialized equipment such as for single cell dissociation and animal heating/cooling. Proposals are due November 27, 2023 and the period of performance is June 2023 through September 2024. Evaluation criteria are not specified but will likely include technical approach, qualifications, and price.
There is no set-aside designation. The primary NAICS code is 541715 and PSC code R425. The non-competitive sole source justification cites one responsible source with necessary expertise. The contract would have a period of performance from June 2023 through April 2025 and be performed in Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The research aims to publish results by September 2024 describing novel pathways engaged during mild and intense heat and cold stress.
Notice text
Naval Medical Research Unit – Dayton (NAMRU-D) investigators require a research support team capable of 1) assisting to generate single cell population from lab mice (e.g., C57B6J) brain tissue for single cell RNA (scRNA) library generation and sequncing, 2) assisting in bioinformatics analysis of scRNA data, 3) conducting animal biotelemetry surgery and 4) performing animal thermal stress experiments to identify relevant spatial and temporal physiological responses to thermal stress.
