This amendment is to clarify the following question(s):
Q: If it is possible, could you please provide further insight on what your anticipated prints per month are expected to be used. Also, what term of contract for maintenance are you looking to have in terms of months or years?
A: The anticipated prints per month is 75,000 to 80,000. The maintenance contract we expect to have is yearly. The maintenance will be based on copier use and will include all on-site maintenance, parts and labor. It will include all supplies excluding paper and staples.
Q: Can Line Item "L" under the requirements be amended to include standard toner technology?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot amend the solicitation to modify the Line Item "L" requirement. The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Environmental Lab (EL) Headquarters Building was constructed using LEED guidelines by the Green Building Council of America. This system awards points for many different categories during and after construction in order for a building to be certified "Green". The new EL building achieved a LEED Gold rating due to many factors, one of which was reduction of waste materials from the building.
The solid ink copier/printers meet LEED requirements for reduction in consumable resources over that of conventional toner cartridges. In order to sustain the LEED guidelines that originated during the construction, the EL requires that the solid ink technology be used in order to enhance the LEED characteristics of the new building.
