About this opportunity
The Department of the Army, specifically the Fort Knox Qualified Recycle Program (QRP), is soliciting bids for the sale of approximately 34,000 lbs of empty used Condition Code (S) Ammunition Containers, including PA108, SAW, M19A1, and M2A2 models. The solicitation seeks interested parties to submit a comprehensive bid package, which must include a complete solicitation form with signatures, contact information, and a total bid price. Bidders are required to provide a 53-foot van trailer for transportation and must be prepared for forklift-assisted loading of the containers. The evaluation criteria will primarily focus on the best price offered, with additional considerations for bidder solvency and compliance with SAM registration. The critical deadline for submission is May 21, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, with bids to be sent via email to Jamie Daley and Tara Mounce.
The contract opportunity is not designated with any specific set-aside, making it open to all qualified bidders. The place of performance is Fort Knox, Kentucky, with the successful bidder responsible for pickup within five working days of notification. Payment terms require 80% of the award amount to be paid at pickup, with the remaining balance due within 15 calendar days. Payments must be made via cashier's check, certified check, traveler's check, or postal money order to the U.S. Treasury Department. The QRP reserves the right to reject any bids and requires bidders to comply with all state, federal, and local regulations. Bidders must also adhere to installation security protocols and be responsible for securing the load during transportation. While a specific contract value is not explicitly stated, the volume of 34,000 lbs of ammunition containers suggests a significant potential transaction.
