About this opportunity

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a component of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association by September 17, 2026 for expansion of outreach and awareness services to persons with ALS in 29 specified states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California (Sacramento Area), Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The contract will promote and enroll patients into the National ALS Registry through continuous outreach, education, and awareness activities including facilitating patient computer access to the National ALS Registry web portal, providing educational materials, and leveraging social media targeting persons with ALS, their families, caregivers, and researchers.

ATSDR asserts the ALS Association is the only responsible source, citing its combination of national ALS clinical infrastructure, credentialing authority, research engagement, and established patient and provider relationships as uniquely unavailable elsewhere. The sole-source determination is justified under FAR 6.103-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Although this is a notice of intent to sole source, not a request for competitive quotations, the government will consider all quotations or responses received within 15 days of this notice's issuance when making its final competition determination.
