About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Southwestern Region is establishing a Qualified Vendors List (QVL) for cab glass repair and replacement services at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) located throughout the United States. This pre-solicitation notice invites statements of interest from qualified contractors with relevant experience in glass repair and replacement work. The scope of work includes performing measurements, removing damaged insulated glass units (IGUs), and installing properly sized replacement units in accordance with specifications, with all labor, materials, and equipment to be provided by the contractor. Interested vendors must demonstrate experience on similar projects within the past five years, provide specific contract references with contact information, and identify which geographic regions (Eastern, Central, or Western) they can support. Responses to this pre-solicitation are due by March 27, 2026, providing potential bidders with a two-week window to submit their capabilities and statements of interest.
No set-aside designations have been applied to this procurement opportunity. The notice does not identify any current contractors or incumbents, nor does it specify an award value or budget range for the resulting contract. The pre-solicitation requires vendors to submit standard business information including company name, address, point of contact details, UEI number, years in business, and demonstrated experience with similar glazing work. While the specific number of towers requiring services and the total contract value have not been disclosed in this pre-solicitation phase, the scope covers multiple locations across three geographic regions, suggesting a potentially substantial multi-location service requirement. The FAA is using this pre-solicitation to develop its acquisition strategy and better understand the commercial marketplace for these specialized glass services.
