About this opportunity
The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically the National Institute of Child Health and Development, is seeking qualified small businesses to conduct a highly specialized temperature-sensitive complex move of laboratory reagents from a Bethesda, MD facility to the Maxx Plank Institute in Germany. The primary objective is to safely transport large quantities of expensive research reagents while maintaining precise, consistent temperatures for each specific reagent group. Interested firms must submit a detailed capability statement by January 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. EST to verne.griffin@nih.gov, referencing solicitation #75N94025Q00040. The government will evaluate responses based on the firms' experience, technical skills, delivery timeframes, and ability to interact with laboratory staff for precise shipment coordination. Any questions must be emailed to the same contact, with the solicitation number in the subject line.
This market survey is open to all small businesses, with particular interest in 8(a), small disadvantaged, woman-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, and HUBZone businesses. There is currently no specific set-aside designation, and the procurement will be classified under NAICS code 492110 with a size standard of 1,500 employees. The move is considered short-term and will be scheduled after funding approval, with work performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. While no specific contract value is mentioned, the complexity of maintaining multiple precise temperatures for reagent transportation suggests a specialized and potentially high-value contract. Respondents must clearly identify their business size and type, and provide a comprehensive capability statement detailing their qualifications to meet the government's intricate shipping and temperature maintenance requirements.
