Taxi Driver Fatigue Data Collection

This requirement is solicited as a full and open competition solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a written proposal which, if received timely, will be considered for award by the agency. No phone calls please. If you have questions or would like a copy of the solicitation please provide it in writing.

The purpose of this requirement is to perform the primary data collection activities for a study designed by the NIOSH point of contact for the Scope of Work. Specifically, the data collection activities will support evaluating two interventions – (1) an online fatigue management training, and (2) actigraphs that provide driver feedback in the form of a fatigue score – among 180 drivers with 2 pre-training 7-day data collection periods and 3 post-training 7-day data collection periods. Data collection for each participant will span 4 months.  The study will utilize a longitudinal study design that randomly allocates the study subjects into 3 groups, each consisting of approximately 60 drivers. There will be two intervention groups and a control group. For Group 1: approximately 60 drivers will receive training and wear actigraphs but will not be provided feedback on their estimated fatigue score. Group 2: approximately 60 drivers will receive training plus wear actigraphs that provide fatigue scores to the driver. Group 3: a control group that will wear the actigraphs to collect fatigue-related data but will not receive training nor their fatigue scores. All actigraphy data will generate sleep duration, sleep and waking times, and sleep efficiency on every participant for the researchers and NIOSH research team.

The period of performance shall be a base period of 12 months with one option period for 12 months. The Contractor shall perform all work under this contract in accordance with the statement of work.
