About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a specialized tape product with National Stock Number 1H-5640-014779416-X3, with a quantity of 124 boxes to be delivered to distribution centers in Norfolk, VA and Bremerton, WA. The proposed contract will be negotiated under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for single-source procurement when competitive bidding is not feasible. Interested parties are invited to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the notice's publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government will evaluate submissions based on the offeror's ability to meet specific qualification requirements at the time of award, as outlined in FAR clause 52.209-1. Potential vendors can obtain relevant military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via online resources or by contacting their help desk.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this procurement. The contract does not provide details about potential award value or precise budget ranges. The procurement involves a technical specification (TDP VER 018) for a specialized tape product, with delivery requirements to two specific military distribution depots. The government has determined that obtaining data rights or reverse engineering the part would be uneconomical, which contributes to the single-source procurement approach. While all responsible sources may express interest, the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the proposed contract based on the responses received.
