About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is soliciting firm-fixed price quotations for repair, teardown, evaluation, and modification services of a Tape Drive Chassis (NSN 7HH 5998-01-661-5786). This Request for Quotations was issued on April 14, 2026, with quotations due by May 14, 2026. Key requirements include that only repair pricing will be accepted—quotes limited to test and evaluation alone will not be considered—and the quoted price must encompass all costs associated with receipt, complete repair of incomplete or damaged items, missing hardware, handling damage, and wear damage. Quoters must be authorized repair sources, adhere to Item Unique Identification (IUID) requirements per DFARS 252.211-7003, provide Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV) reporting, and submit detailed cost breakdowns including profit rates along with a minimum 90-day quote expiration date. The Government will evaluate submissions based on repair unit pricing, total price, Repair Turnaround Time (RTAT), price reductions for missing RTATs, and facility/subcontractor CAGE codes.
This procurement includes no set-aside designation and is for three units to be delivered to DLA Distribution in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. The Government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase data or rights to data for additional sources and uneconomical to reverse engineer the part, which is why only one source will be solicited and negotiated with under FAR 6.302-1 authority. Contractors must provide repair services with a 78-day repair turnaround time after asset receipt, with pricing delivered FOB Source using MIL-STD-2073 packaging and inspection and acceptance occurring at the origin. Contract administration will be conducted through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mechanicsburg, with inquiries directed to Jordan D. Burt at JORDAN.D.BURT.CIV@US.NAVY.MIL or (717) 605-1318.
