Army Contracting Command–Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) plans to exercise FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services, for contract W56HZV-21-D-0018 with BAE Systems Land & Armaments, L.P. of Sterling Heights, MI. The current contract ordering period ends 6 July 2026. ACC-DTA intends to exercise the six-month option in its entirety, with a period of performance from 7 Jul 2026 through 6 January 2027.

Contract W56HZV-21-D-0018 provides for critical System Technical Support, Post-Production System Support, and Sustainment System Technical Support services for the AMPV and M113 Families of Vehicles for development of changes to existing products, production activities, and the sustainment phase of the systems’ acquisition life cycles.  These services also include engineering, logistics, and field support. This action will allow for the continuation of critical services to be provided for the vehicles managed by Project Manager Mounted Armored Vehicles (PM MAV)

This procurement will be restricted to BAE Systems Land & Armaments, LP of Sterling Heights, MI, under FAR authority FAR 6.103-1(c)(2) Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Class Deviation (CD) 2026-O0017, Rev 1), “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.”  BAE Systems is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the AMPV and M113 FOVs and complete TDPs are not available for competition.

All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which will be considered by ACC-DTA.

Since the Government intends to exercise FAR 52.217-8 on the existing contract, a separate solicitation is not available.
